You need the equipment first!
First, things are easiest with the right tools. So we're going to need tools to help us organize and see our code. I have a few suggestions...
Don't worry, these are both free.
Now, download and install either of those. Both are good for editting, but they're only good if you know how to optimize them.
So now... How do we use these things so they help us write html/css/javascript? Well it's easy.

So now... How do we use these things so they help us write html/css/javascript? Well it's easy.
- Create a new document.
- Then, follow the directions. File>Save As> (DocumentName).html
By adding the extension .html (Make sure the dot is there) we created a hyper text markup language file. Now you should be able to edit it, and have it highlight syntax. (syntax is the little bits of code in the language.)
This same method works with CSS and Javascript.
CSS = .css
Javascript = .js
HTML = .html
(Pretty obvious stuff so far. Right?)
